With more than 10,000 cybersecurity professionals coming together at Fal.Con 2026, one theme dominated conversations across the event: AI is fundamentally changing the cybersecurity landscape.
For Ignition Technology, this year’s event was particularly significant. Alongside engaging with partners, customers and vendors on the future of cybersecurity, Ignition was recognised as CrowdStrike’s 2026 Global Technical Champion of the Year, recognising its commitment to technical excellence and partner enablement.
Beyond the announcements and celebrations, three key themes stood out throughout the event.

One message came through loud and clear throughout Fal.Con: AI is no longer an emerging cybersecurity challenge. It is already reshaping the threat landscape.
As frontier AI models become more capable, attackers are able to discover vulnerabilities, generate convincing phishing campaigns and accelerate attack execution faster than ever before. The gap between identifying a weakness and exploiting it is continuing to shrink. While much of the discussion around AI focuses on productivity and innovation, Fal.Con 2026 highlighted a growing concern across the industry: identity is becoming one of the most attractive targets for attackers.
Every new identity creates a potential attack surface, and threat actors are increasingly looking to exploit credentials, permissions and access controls rather than traditional malware-based techniques.
This reflects a broader trend that is reshaping cybersecurity. Perhaps the most significant announcement surrounding Fal.Con 2026 was the continued expansion of Project QuiltWorks, CrowdStrike‘s coordinated framework for addressing frontier AI risk. The initiative combines AI-driven vulnerability discovery, adversary-informed prioritisation, remediation expertise and financial protection into a single approach designed to help organisations respond to emerging threats.
Importantly, the programme is now being extended to organisations of all sizes through distributors, marketplaces and channel partners, helping bring enterprise-grade protection to SMBs worldwide.
Project QuiltWorks demonstrates the growing importance of collaboration in tackling frontier AI risk. By bringing together technology innovation, specialist expertise and partner enablement, this initiative will help create a framework through which partners can support customers facing increasingly complex security challenges.

If there was one clear takeaway from Fal.Con 2026, it is that AI is transforming cybersecurity at every level. Organisations must adapt to a world where attacks move faster, identities extend beyond humans, and resilience depends on collaboration across the wider security ecosystem.
